Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 10 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged to consider pushing local products for domestic consumption by distributing to tourist destinations.

The premier spoke during his sodality dinner with SMEs members on Monday (Apr 10) at Diamond Island.

On that occasion, premier Hun Sen also instructed the Ministry of Commerce to lead and coordinate the establishment of inter-ministerial technical working groups to promote trade facilitation to reduce trade costs and promote Cambodia's exports, especially agro-industry products to countries that signed free trade agreements with Cambodia and also promote the expansion of domestic markets.

Samdech continued that the tourism sector has been steadily recovered, therefore we can distribute our local products such as cashew nuts to tourists sites nationwide.

The premier also advised to pay attention to and consider neighboring markets such as Vietnam, Thailand and Laos destinations for exports.
