Phnom Penh (FN), May 5 – The International Olympic Committee (IOC) bestowed the Pierre de Coubertin medal on Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen for his outstanding achievements in leading and promoting sports as well as promoting the National Olympic and International Olympic Movement.

Secretary general of Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC) Vath Chamroeun said that the medal is the highest medal of the International Olympic Movement.

The medal was designed by French educator and historian Pierre de Coubertin, the founding father of the modern Olympics since 1894, and is dedicated to the head of state and government.
