Phnom Penh (FN), May 8 – Senior minister of Singapore Teo Chee Hean praised Cambodia’s wonderful SEA Games preparations, speaking during a courtesy call on Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen on Monday (May 8) at the Peace Palace.

"Teo Chee Hean congratulated Samdech for organizing the marvelous SEA Games with great success,” according to the premier’s personal assistant Eang Sophalleth.

The senior minister said that the athletes who came to participate in this competition were delighted with the kingdom’s warmest hospitality.

During the meeting, Teo also highly commended premier Hun Sen for the effective control of COVID19 and the successful ASEAN chairmanship.

Teo also briefed Samdech his current visit to Cambodia to elevate the relationship between the two countries to the next level.

For his part, premier Hun Sen thanked the government and people of Singapore for sending athletes to participate in the SEA Games in Cambodia, which made the SEA Games in Cambodia more magnificent.

The premier also thanked the government of Singapore for its support for Cambodia’s ASEAN chairmanship.

On that occasion, Samdech praised the existing cooperation between the two countries and encouraged both sides to review the implementation of Memorandum of Understanding, which has already been signed, especially in the energy and carbon markets.

Samdech also encouraged to examine the possibility of cooperation in other areas.
