Phnom Penh (FN), May 9 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen requested Vietnamese prime minister Pham Minh Chinh to facilitate the forthcoming submarine transmission line to Singapore.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (May 9) in a meeting with the Vietnamese counterpart during his visit to Indonesia for the 42nd ASEAN Summits and Related Meetings.

On this occasion, premier Hun Sen stated that Cambodia intends to export energy from Laos and continue to export to Singapore. For the submarine line, it also needs Ca Mau, the territory of southern Viet Nam, to connect to Malaysia then to Singapore.

At the request of premier Hun Sen, Pham Minh Chinh said that he had received this information and that he would send it to an expert working group to review the matter.

On that occasion, the Vietnamese prime minister also praised the successful and wonderful opening of the SEA Games in Cambodia.

Vietnamese prime minister also invited prime minister Hun Sen to pay an official visit to Viet Nam in the near future.
