Phnom Penh (FN), May 17 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen announced Cambodia's success in hosting the 32nd SEA Games, speaking at the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games, held on Wednesday (May 17) at Morodok Techo National Stadium.

"From the opening until the closing ceremony, we did it," the premier underscored.

The premier thanked citizens nationwide for supporting the 32nd SEA Games and dedicated this achievement for Cambodian citizens living inside and outside the country.

Meanwhile, Samdech also thanked all the volunteers who actively participated in the organization and coordination of the 32nd SEA Games with a strong sense of responsibility.

Taking this occasion, Samdech thanked and praised Cambodian minister of national defense Tea Banh, in his capacity as head of the Cambodia SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC); and Cambodian minister of tourism Thong Khon, in his capacity as permanent vice-president of the  CAMSOC, as well as relevant authority for carrying out the mission from the beginning to the end of the event.

Samdech also thanked the Cambodian king and queen mother for their support in hosting the SEA Games and thanked the late king father for leaving a legacy for the success of the 2023 SEA Games.

Lastly, Samdech expressed his gratitude to the Chinese government and the people, especially to Chinese president Xi Jinping, for granting Morodok Techo National Stadium for Cambodia to host the SEA Games.
