Phnom Penh (FN), May 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen said that 223 philanthropists donated a total of USD 72 million to support the construction of “Techo Aphivadh” Building, the Calmette Hospital’s Polytechnic Centre in Phnom Penh.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (May 23) at an inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed building.

In addition, two unnamed philanthropists have yet given their donations, the premier added.

On that occasion, Samdech underlined that the total budget for the construction is USD 102 million and 281 million Riels, including USD 30 million from the Royal Government of Cambodia.

At the same time, on behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, the premier thanked donors for their contribution and thanked Finance minister Aun Porn Moniroth for agreeing to allocate a budget of USD 30 million.

Calmette’s “Techo Aphivadh” Building cost more than USD 70 million, located on Monivong Blvd., with a total length of 153 meters long and 22.5 meters wide. It is a 12-story building and can accommodate 426 beds.
