Phnom Penh (FN), May 23 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen told foreigners to view Cambodia beyond Cambodia because the kingdom is a member of ASEAN and has a veto right. Therefore, no resolution will be adopted when one member of the ASEAN votes against it.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (May 23) at an inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Calmette’s Polytechnic Building.

"Cambodia neither asks nor accepts any country’s interference with its domestic affairs. I am tired of this interference. If you do not understand me, I will not understand you as well,” the premier underlined.

Samdech continued, “Do not forget that Cambodia is an active member of ASEAN, so Cambodia has a veto right. No resolution will be adopted when one member of the ASEAN votes against it. Therefore, you cannot achieve your goal without my consensus.”

His remarks came after many foreigners tried to interfere in Cambodia's domestic affairs regarding the implementation of the democratic process in the upcoming 7th Mandate National Assembly Election.
