Phnom Penh (FN), May 27 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen urged factory owners and workers to jointly create a harmonious working environment in order to be more productive, increase income and stabilize investment as workers also need employers for employment opportunities and the employers also need workers to run the factory.
The premier spoke on Saturday morning (May 27) during his meeting with nearly 20,000 workers in the Royal Group Phnom Penh Special Economic Zone.
The premier pointed out that without investment, workers may do farming or run small businesses and that they will not be able to earn a minimum wage of USD 200. Without peace, there would be no investment opportunity.
Taking this occasion, Samdech further called on factory owners to pay attention to the employees' well-being. Healthy workers lead to higher productivity within the company. Therefore, the tax payment for public benefit will also increase.
