Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 24 – Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation noted the multitude of comments surrounding Cambodian general election which took place on 23 July 2023.

"The 2023 general election is a true reflection of Cambodia's democratic maturity with its exceptional voter participation and its election's legitimacy as attested by the diversity of the national and international observer teams. As an independent and sovereign nation, Cambodia remains steadfast in its unwavering commitment to political pluralism and peaceful democracy, taking into account its unique national characteristics, tragic recent history and culture," according to a statement seen by Fresh News on Monday (Jul 24).
