Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 6 — Former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra and his sister Yingluck attended the birthday party of Cambodian prime minister Hun Sen in Phnom Penh.

August 5 marks Samdech Techo's 71st birthday. Every year, a birthday celebration is held at Samdech's residence in Kandal’s Ta Khmau city.

Premier Hun Sen told Fresh News CEO Lim Chea Vutha that Thaksin and his sister Yingluck stayed at Samdech Techo's residence for one night. In the morning, after having breakfast with Samdech Techo, the duo departed Cambodia.

PM Hun Sen and Thaksin are godbrother and have enjoyed close relations since 1992 before Thaksin became Thai prime minister.
