Kampong Speu (FN), Oct. 30 – Cambodian prime minister Hun Manet stated that restructuring the leadership of the National Authority for Combating Drugs (NACD) is critical to address drug issues, speaking on Monday (Oct. 30) during an inauguration of Kampong Speu provincial administration building.
"In the seventh mandate, we have restructured the organizational structure as well as the leadership of the NACD," the premier underlined.
Samdech Thipadei added that the leaders of the NACD are deputy prime minister Neth Savoeun as chairman of the authority, interior minister Sar Sokha, defense minister Tea Seiha, and justice minister Koeut Rith.
On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei considered that this significant change is also the responsibility and the priority of the Royal Government, focusing on reducing and achieving the elimination of drug trafficking and use in Cambodia.
In addition, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also stated that we are no longer under the threat of the risk of landmines and war, but health, safety and security of the people.
Samdech Thipadei added that the implementation of the policy of safe villages and communes is equally important, and in order for the villages and communes to be safe, we must continue to strengthen this mechanism and that the local authorities must also continue to work harder and tackle challenges effectively.
