Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet asked the Chinese government and Chinese investment companies to further assist and invest in the kingdom's major infrastructures such as the expressway project, the Funan Techo Canal Project, lightweight railway project, and subway in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.

The premier spoke on Monday (Feb. 19) during a groundbreaking ceremony for Chak Angrae Krom Bridge, Phnom Penh.

"These supports and assistances have made China the top country to provide many concessional loans and assistance for developing and constructing transport infrastructure in Cambodia. Through the Chinese ambassador, I would like to encourage Chinese investment companies to continue to trust the Royal Government and to invest in other major infrastructure projects in the kingdom, such as the expressway project, the Funan Techo Canal Project, the lightweight railway project, and subway in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap," the premier underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei also praised and thanked China, an iron-clad friend of Cambodia and an important partner, for supporting development in Cambodia in multiple sectors in every circumstance without any complicated conditions.

To date, China has helped build 16 bridges in Cambodia. The Chak Angrae Krom Bridge is the 16th bridge built by the Shanghai Construction Company.
