Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 21 – Samdech Techo Hun Sen, Chairman of the Supreme Privy Council of the King, left for Thailand to visit Thaksin in Bangkok on Wednesday (Feb. 21).

Samdech Techo told Fresh News CEO Lim Chea Vutha on Tuesday night.

After visiting Thaksin, Samdech Techo is scheduled to return to Cambodia on Wednesday afternoon.

Thailand's former Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra was released on parole on Sunday (Feb. 18) after six months in detention, his first day of freedom in his homeland 15 years after fleeing in the wake of his overthrow in a military coup.

Samdech Techo Hun Sen and Thaksin have shared a profound bond since 1992, predating Thaksin's tenure as Prime Minister. Even after Thaksin's ousting in a 2006 coup, their connection endured, with Thaksin assuming an advisory role to Samdech Techo. Despite residing abroad, Thaksin and his family regularly visited Cambodia to meet with Hun Sen, underscoring the enduring closeness of their relationship.
