Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 21 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed Cambodia's ambition to independently accomplish significant milestones such as expressways, subways, and other major infrastructure projects. However, the kingdom remained open to cooperation with development partners.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Feb. 21) at the 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology &Innovation (MISTI) at the Ministry.

"In the future, Cambodia envisions the construction of infrastructure such as expressways and subways to be undertaken by domestic corporation," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued that in the 1990s, there were experts from the World Bank who assisted in drafting national plan for Cambodia, but now Cambodia is capable and solely responsible for it. Cambodian citizens have the ability to build multi-storey buildings and bridges, except for the subway. However, we must enhance our ability.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei aimed to build a strong foundation for the Pentagonal Strategy within five years. In this sense, Cambodia has confidence to achieve milestones on its own in every sector.
