Phnom Penh (FN), Feb. 28 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet extended an invitation to Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to visit Cambodia once more. In response to the invitation, Anwar Ibrahim stated that he would explore the feasibility and timing of the visit but did not specify a date.

Cambodian Delegate Minister Jean François Tan spoke during a press conference after Samdech Thipadei concluded his official visit to Malaysia on 27 February 2024.

"The visit by Samdech Thipdei Hun Manet holds particular significance, especially in light of his appointment as the new Prime Minister of Cambodia since August 2023. Following his assumption of office, Samdech Thipadei embarked on a series of visits to China, Viet Nam, France, Thailand, and on 27 February, to Malaysia. Each of these visits occurred within a unique context, as the new Prime Minister sought to reaffirm Cambodia's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with each respective country,” said delegate minister.

He continued, “During the bilateral talks, Samdech Thipadei extended an official invitation for Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to visit Cambodia. The Malaysian premier expressed his intention to consider the possibility and timing of the visit, but has not yet confirmed a date."

Please be informed that on 27 February 2024, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet paid a one-day official visit to Malaysia at the invitation of Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
