Kandal (FN), Mar. 12 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called for collective efforts in safeguarding peace for further development for future generations, speaking on Tuesday morning (Mar. 12) during the inspection of the construction of Techo International Airport in Kandal Province.

“Recently, some individuals questioned the benefits of peace. I invited one of them to stand and observe their surroundings. Then, as they resumed their seat, I asked them what they saw. They beheld the city lights and modern infrastructure. I pointed out that they were seated on the 37th floor of an international, air-conditioned building – all made possible by peace,” the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued, "During a meeting with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during which Albanese shared his experience of visiting Cambodia's Angkor Wat in 1987. He described how, despite the absence of crowds at the temple, they could hear the sound of gunfire nearby.”

On the occasion, Premier Hun Manet stressed the imperative of preserving the dividends of peace and transforming them into opportunities for fostering development and prosperity for the well-being of future generations.
