Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 20 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet congratulated Russian President Vladimir Putin on occasion of his re-election as the President of the Russian Federation for the fifth term.

"I would like to express my sincere congratulations upon your victory in the 2024 Presidential Election of the Russian Federation. Your triumph is a strong testament and acknowledgement to the successes, accomplishments, and greatness you have brought to the motherland," according to the letter seen by Fresh News on Wednesday (Mar. 20).

"Since the inception of our relations almost seven decades ago, Cambodia and Russia have enjoyed traditional ties of warm and genuine friendship, bound by a strong sense of political trust, mutual respect and understanding, shared values, and common interests. Through joint endeavours, I strongly believe we will be able to leverage the full potential of cooperation and partnerships between our two countries in existing and future practical areas.

On behalf of the Royal Government of Cambodia, I stand ready to work closely with Your Excellency and the Russian Government to herald a new era of more fertile and enhanced Cambodia-Russia relations for the best interests of our peoples, bringing to fruition our efforts toward achieving peace, harmony and prosperity for our regions and the world.
