Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 20 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that as of 2023, the Ministry of Rural Development constructed over 50,000 kilometers of rural roads, encompassing more than 70 percentage of the country.

The premier spoke on Wednesday (Mar. 20) during the closing 2023 annual meeting of the Ministry of Rural Development in Phnom Penh.

"The construction of over 50,000 kilometers of rural infrastructure accounts for 74 percentage of the total roads in the country. However, it is important to note that many roads are still unpaved, consisting of red soil," the premier underscored.

Additionally, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet highlighted that the Royal Government will persist in developing rural areas to enhance the living standards of citizens residing in those regions.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei stated that the new Royal Government has implemented numerous policies for rural development aimed at bridging the gap between rural and urban populations.
