Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 23 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised to switch from “Working in Silos” practice to "Dynamics of Stakeholders System" approach, which is indispensable for fostering a robust national innovation system capable of thriving in regional and global competition.

The premier spoke on Sunday (Mar. 24) at the opening of the 2nd National Day of Science, Technology and Innovation at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.

In the Pentagonal Strategy-Phase I, the approach of Dynamics of Stakeholder System requires all ministries-institutions under the Royal Government of Cambodia, both national and sub-national, to work together in an energetic collaboration and coordination, with synergy and complementarity, as well as flexibility to changes of realities to achieve the set priority objectives.

"To enhance engagement in advancing science, technology, and innovation, along with bolstering the National Board of Science, Technology, and Innovation, I propose that the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, alongside pertinent ministries, prioritize several key actions,” the premier underlined.

Samdech Thipadei continued, “Firstly, there should be a concerted effort to reinforce governance within the realm of science, technology, and innovation, aligning with existing legal frameworks. With the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation and the National Board of Science, Technology, and Innovation serving as pivotal authorities in this domain, it is imperative to transition from a “working in silos” approach to collaborative endeavours under a 'Dynamics of Stakeholders System' approach. Such an approach is indispensable for fostering a robust national innovation system capable of thriving in regional and global competition."

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet said that harnessing science, technology and innovation is pivotal for advancing the digital socio-economy. This involves integrating cutting-edge technologies into production chains and public services to enhance productivity in alignment with global standards.
