Phnom Penh (FN), Mar. 24 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that harnessing science, technology, and innovation is key to developing the digital socio-economy, speaking on Sunday (Mar. 24) at the opening of the 2nd National Day of Science, Technology and Innovation at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Harnessing science, technology, and innovation as the driving force for the development of the digital socio-economy involves incorporating cutting-edge technologies into the production chain and other public services to enhance productivity in line with international standards, which is crucial for progress."

At the same time, the premier also commended the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation for organizing the 2nd National Day of Science, Technology and Innovation and hosting significant events including the Technology and Equipment Manufacturing Exhibition, Science Fair, Technology Forum, and the Outstanding Cambodian Scientist Award.

Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that today's event demonstrates the potential of science, technology, and innovation, underscoring the Royal Government's commitment to promoting and supporting small and medium enterprises in embracing science, technology, and innovation as crucial pillars for building and developing enterprises to foster an innovative national ecosystem.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei urged education, training, research institutions, and the private sector, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises, to collaborate with government ministries and institutions to establish a robust foundation in the area of science, technology, and innovation across all sectors. Meanwhile, relevant ministries and institutions must continue to collaboratively support the leadership and coordination of the Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, and Innovation, ensuring that this priority sector becomes a key element of Cambodia's socio-economic development.
