Pursat (FN), Mar. 31 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the preparation of 4 km of Antang Ang Road in the 1500 mountainous area in Veal Veng district, Pursat province, as a forest conservation area for a tourist destination.

The premier spoke on Sunday morning (Mar. 31) at the inauguration of Preah Botum Stupa at Mony Ratanaream Pagoda in Pursat province.

Samdech Thipadei also instructed the Ministry of Environment to review the investment projects of over 10 hectares of land to ensure compliance with the contract if breach of contract and serious damage to natural resources must be withdrawn immediately.

"I would like to review the level of development within 4 km of land and both sides to regard as a forest conservation area for tourist destination in this mountainous area," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei also instructed the inter-ministerial working group to review, update, and implement other practical work, especially the development investment license to avoid any impact there. The premier said that if you want to invest in tourism, please do it in other places or do it beyond there.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei assigned this task to the Chairman of the Royal Government Working Group Keo Rattanak to assist Pursat Province, in leading the inter-ministerial working group of relevant institutions in cooperation with the provincial authorities to carry out this work. The goal is to provide equitable solutions benefiting both parties and safeguarding the long-term interests of the 1500 mountainous area, encompassing forests on both sides within the designated 4 km stretch.
