Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 19 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet instructed that strategic planning officers must increase their awareness and cognitive abilities to facilitate working and communicating with other countries.

The premier spoke on Friday (Apr. 19) during an inauguration of buildings and closing 2023 training course of the National Defence University.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "In a dynamic global context impacting Cambodia, our military officers, especially strategic planners, must expand their understanding and capacity. It's not just about battle plans; it also involves international relations and logistics planning, requiring direct interaction with other countries. Hence, it's crucial to comprehend what to do or what not to do."

At the same time, the premier expressed appreciation for the efforts of the National Defence University's Rector, management, military personnel, and staff in collaborating with the Royal Government of Cambodia on institutional reforms. The aim is to transform the National Defence University into a training hub not only for military strategy but also for national defence policy, open to participation by senior officials from other institutions.

Regarding education, psychology, information, and policy, Samdech Thipadei underlined that it is an indispensable task in building the patriotic conscience to fulfil the duty of national defence, which is a key advantage of every officer. Therefore, commanders at all levels must have a sense of responsibility to care for retired soldiers, both before and after leaving service, with strict adherence and transparency to stabilise their well-being.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet advised maintaining good discipline, setting an example for others, respecting state laws, and adhering to all regulations to prevent and eradicate drug production, trafficking, and usage within the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces.
