Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet, stated that through the efforts and talents of Cambodian artists, they have become a bridge, bringing Cambodia to the world, speaking on Thursday (Apr. 25) during his gala dinner with artists at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei underscored, "Cambodian artists, through their work and talent, serve as a bridge that brings Cambodia to the world, sharing its historical experiences, including its struggles and Cambodian history, and also a catalyst for driving cultural transformation and fostering mutual respect."

Prime Minister Hun Manet affirmed that the awarding of medals now symbolises the recognition of the contributions of artists nationwide who are dedicated to strengthening Cambodia's national arts and culture.

In the current era of globalisation, the role of Cambodian artists is increasingly crucial, as each artist can serve as an ambassador for cultural representation both nationally and internationally, seizing opportunities to inspire greater national identity, renewed prosperity, and a stronger commitment to protecting national culture.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet expressed gratitude to all the artists and foreign guests who participated in and preserved the beautiful cultural traditions of Cambodia.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei agreed with the remarks made by Minister of Culture and Fine Arts Phoeurng Sackona regarding the pivotal role of artists in all forms in preserving the rich cultural traditions and arts left by our ancestors, as well as in the development and dissemination of this rich heritage on the international stage.

The premier underlined that countless Cambodian artists from all generations have dedicated their physical, mental, and spiritual talents throughout their lives to safeguard and uphold their ancestral heritage in all its forms. They serve as inspirations for new ideas and innovations, drawing from the rich traditional Khmer culture and art. This narrative intertwines with the depiction of Khmer life alongside nature in the sculptures adorning Khmer temples. Various designs vividly illustrate aspects of Khmer life, highlighted through the perfection of Apsara dance, ancient and traditional Khmer dance forms, contemporary dance, visual arts, music, songs, films, sculptures, literature, attire, cuisine, etc.
