Phnom Penh (FN), Apr. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet strongly supported the use of clothing, particularly blazers, made from Cambodia's silk.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Apr. 25) during his gala dinner with artists at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei also asked his spouse to prepare a set for him.

Taking this opportunity, Samdech Thipadei continued to express that the promotion of Cambodian culture, such as the Apsara Dance and the Blessing Dance, does not necessarily mean sticking to traditional forms, but rather integrating them into modern culture. Samdech Thipadei cited the example of South Korea, where the promotion of culture has extended beyond traditional practices to include phenomena like KPOP, a new Korean culture born of creativity. The premier believed that modern Cambodian artists can similarly innovate and promote Cambodian culture in contemporary contexts.
