Kampong Speu (FN), May 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet called on youths to avoid engaging in violent and illegal activities. Instead, Samdech Thipadei urged youths to participate in social activities that contribute to developing a better nation.

The premier spoke on Thursday (May 30) during an inauguration of achievements in the Buddhist Cultural Center in Kampong Speu Province.

"You [youths] should compete in social activities, not in fighting. Yesterday, the governor of Takeo province was tasked with locating a group of swordsmen in Tram Kak, and a few have already been found," the premier underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei noted that some places were selling samurai swords, which were used by gangsters. He stressed that selling such items was unnecessary, unlike tools for agricultural activities. The weapons themselves do not kill people; rather, people misuse weapons for harmful purposes, he added.

In this regard, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet urged efforts to educate young citizens, aiming to preserve human resources and ensure security and order for everyone.
