Kampong Speu (FN), May 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that wars stem from the minds of people, making it imperative to prevent any extremist ideology, both in the religious sphere and in the realm of governance.

The premier spoke on Thursday (May 30) during an inauguration of achievements in the Buddhist Cultural Centre in Kampong Speu Province.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei called for collective action to prevent religious extremism and avoid conflicts.

"War does not start with weapons, but with people. It stems from extremist mindsets. During the Khmer Rouge regime, individuals were driven by ideology to the extent that they betrayed and even killed their parents. Maintaining peace and stability together is crucial for our future," Samdech Thipadei underscored.

On the occasion, Premier Hun Manet also commended the religious harmony in Cambodia, where people of different faiths can reside in the same community, study together, and access other public services.
