Kampong Speu (FN), May 30 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said that liberating citizens from the genocidal regime and providing assistance to them are the Royal Government’s meritorious deeds.

The premier spoke on Thursday (May 30) during an inauguration of achievements in the Buddhist Cultural Centre in Kampong Speu Province.

"Peace allows us to do merit, and merit brings peace; they are inseparable. Over these 45 years, the Royal Government’s policies have stemmed from this merit. The major merit was on 7 January 1979, when we liberated the citizens. Everyone now has the opportunity to build their capacity, enjoy religious freedom, practice, and grow, which is also a form of merit. Importantly, we are able to sit here because of the win-win policy," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued that the win-win policy is based on mutual understanding without discrimination. It guarantees the lives of survivors from the Khmer Rouge regime, as well as their property and job security.
