Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that artists of all forms play a key role in preserving the beautiful cultures, traditions and arts left by their ancestors, as well as in the development and dissemination of this precious heritage to the international arena, especially in this fourth industrial generation.

The premier spoke on Friday (May 31) during the meeting with Cambodian Artists under the theme "Heirs" in Phnom Penh.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that a strong foundation of peace is the main factor, providing an opportunity for all Cambodians to live together with virtue and solidarity.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipdei continued that artists have also played an important role in promoting social harmony through activities that preserve and disseminate the fine arts and culture of Cambodia.

In addition, countless Cambodian artists of all generations have sacrificed their physical, mental, and spiritual talents throughout their lives to preserve all forms of ancestral heritage by utilising innovative ideas through traditional arts, culture, and practices.

Premier Hun Manet added that Cambodian artists, through their work and talent, have become a bridge to bring Cambodia to the world, sharing experiences and knowledge of Cambodia's national history, both struggles and triumphs. They also serve as a catalyst to promote cultural exchange and mutual respect.

Samdech Thipadei further underlined that in the current digital revolution, the role of artists is becoming increasingly important. Each artist can be a goodwill ambassador for cultural representation on both the national and international stages, seizing opportunities to inspire a higher national identity, renewed prosperity, and a stronger love for the protection of national culture.

The premier urged artists to strengthen their solidarity and continue their work in the field of art.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also requested the Khmer Artists Association to cooperate closely with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and relevant ministries and institutions to set a code of ethics for artists and establish professional ethics as a coordination mechanism with all associations and artists.
