Phnom Penh (FN), May 31 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the official process of the association must be based on legal documents, which are essential for the functioning of the association. Therefore, the Khmer Artists Association must cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to prepare strong and effective legal documents.

The premier spoke on Friday (May 31) during the meeting with Cambodian Artists under the theme "Heirs" in Phnom Penh.

On that occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined that the association's official process relies on legal documents, which are fundamental for its successful and efficient operation.

“In this regard, I encourage the association to cooperate with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts to prepare strong and effective legal documents for implementing and considering short-term action plans. The longevity of the association is key to its success," Samdech Thipadei underscored.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet noted that the Khmer Artists Association has become a significant training ground for famous and highly talented artists. He believed that in the near future, the association will continue to be a hub for training, knowledge transfer, and the sharing of experiences from senior artists to new generations.

The premier added that in the field of arts and culture, artists are role models who influence various backgrounds, especially through media via direct or indirect performances. Maintaining artistic value, national culture, and personal integrity depends on the artists' decisions. Right decisions will be supported by the public, while wrong decisions will face social pressure.

During the meeting, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet also urged the Khmer Artists Association to work closely with the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts and relevant ministries and institutions to establish a code of ethics and a professional code of conduct for artists. This would serve as a coordination mechanism for the association and all artists.
