Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 3 – Marcos Bianchi, Concert Manager of world-class Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, arrived in Cambodia on 2 June 2024, to negotiate hosting the First World Concert in Cambodia in 2025.

This event opens the door for the world to learn more about Cambodia, a peaceful country. Similar to how world-class singer Taylor Swift performed in Singapore, Andrea Bocelli's potential concert in Cambodia represents a rare opportunity, as many countries around the world desire to host him and other celebrities.

Cambodia Delegate Minister Rath Sandab highlighted three benefits of this concert:

First, promoting peace;

Second, enhancing the image of tourism;

Third, providing a new experience for Cambodian youth with world-class concerts.

"I hope that the negotiation process will be successful and the Cambodian people will see the smile of Andrea Bocelli in person, while he will also see the smiles of the Cambodian people," Minister Rath Sandab underscored.

The delegate minister revealed that Andrea Bocelli's team is scheduled to pay separate courtesy calls on the minister of Tourism and the minister of Culture and Fine Arts on 3-4 June 2024, respectively, before leaving on 5 June 2024.

Andrea Bocelli was born on 22 September 1958, in Italy. He is renowned for his exceptional talent in combining opera and pop music.

Born with glaucoma, Andrea Bocelli began learning piano at the age of six and later played the flute and saxophone. At the age of 12, he became completely blind after suffering a stroke caused by a football accident.

Despite his blindness, Andrea Bocelli studied law at the University of Pisa while singing at piano bars and nightclubs to support his studies. After graduating, he worked as a state-appointed lawyer for a year before deciding to pursue a career in music and vocal studies with Franco Corelli.
