Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet advised the president of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce (CCC) based in Montreal, Canada to promote the potential of tourism, trade, and investment opportunities in Cambodia.

The premier received a courtesy call from Kelvin Mo, President of the CCC based in Montreal, Canada on Tuesday (Jun. 4) at the Peace Palace.

Kelvin Mo thanked Samdech Thipadei for allowing him and his delegation to pay a courtesy call. He also expressed gratitude to the relevant ministries and institutions for the successful organization of his visit and the delegation to Cambodia.

During the meeting, Kelvin Mo commended the rapid development of Cambodia, especially the achievement of high and sustainable economic growth under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei. Additionally, he congratulated Cambodia on hosting the 2026 Francophonie Summit, noting that it would attract more investors and tourists from French-speaking countries. He informed the premier that his visit aimed to explore investment potential and opportunities in Cambodia, understand the Royal Government of Cambodia's incentive policies to attract investment, and seek recommendations from Samdech Thipadei to enhance the Cambodia-Canada investment relationship.

For his part, Premier Hun Manet welcomed Kelvin Mo and the delegation. He congratulated Kelvin Mo on his recent appointment as President of the CCC based in Montreal, Canada.

Samdech Thipadei mentioned that the Office of the Representative of CCC overseas has been established in countries such as the United States, Australia, Japan, and is currently being set up in France and other European countries to strengthen trade and investment relations between Cambodia and other nations. The CCC based in Montreal has served as a bridge between the people of both countries and investors.

On the occasion, the premier expressed hope that the CCC in Montreal would collaborate closely with the CCC based in Phnom Penh to expand investment and trade opportunities between the two countries. Premier Hun Manet requested assistance from the Representative in two key areas: (1) Promoting Cambodia's tourism, trade, and investment opportunities; and (2) Supporting the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts to boost Cambodia-Canada trade, facilitate trade negotiations, and promote the export of Cambodian products to Canada.

Samdech Thipadei highlighted Cambodia's preparations for the 2026 Francophonie Summit and proposed establishing a regional French Cultural and Language Center in Cambodia to promote French culture and language training to Asian countries. Samdech Thipadei also encouraged the CCC in Montreal to work with the Ministry of Commerce to enhance business and trade opportunities between Cambodia and Canada.
