Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 17 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his sorrow and sadness upon seeing a video clip of a father bowing to his son, who was a member of a street gang.

The premier spoke on Monday morning (Jun. 17) during the groundbreaking ceremony for the Twin Flyovers at the Intersection of Samdech Techo Hun Sen Boulevard and National Road No.2.

"The [street gang] crackdown is not over yet. We need to ensure that these individuals do not destroy their own future or the future of our national security. Please continue the efforts. The other day, I was saddened to see a father bowing to his son, who was a member of a street gang," the premier underscored.

Samdech Thipadei continued that every parent always wants their children to follow the right path and become valuable members of society. Parents hope their children can live independently and successfully. No parent wants their child to become a bad person or suffer harm, such as being stabbed.

On this occasion, Samdech Thipadei thanked all relevant authorities and local officials for their effective cooperation in cracking down on street gang cases. He also called on youth to become valuable members of society.
