Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 25 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet shared four recommendations to further promote the education sector in digital era.

The premier spoke on Tuesday (Jun. 25) during an inauguration of Cambodia Cyber University Network at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia.

The four recommendations are as follows:

1. Encourages the Cambodian Cyber University Network and the private sector to continue improving the education system and developing new curricula, with a stronger focus on technology and digital skills that align with the context of economic and social growth, climate change, labour market competition, and globalization.

2. Urges the Ministry of Education, Youth, and Sports, along with relevant ministries and institutions, both public and private, to effectively implement the measures outlined in the Cambodia Digital Economy and Society Policy Framework 2021-2035 and the Digital Government Policy 2022-2035 to maximize the benefits of the digital transformation in Cambodia.

3. Encourages all higher education institutions to increase collaboration with national and international educational institutions and research institutes for joint research, experience sharing, and study visits to gain new knowledge and practical experience, with the goal of improving the quality of education, training, and research.

4. Calls for higher education institutions to continue collaborating and improving the education and training sector by providing high-quality teaching services and consistently developing capacity, focusing on youth as future successors and a strong pillar towards achieving the vision of Cambodia 2050 as a high-income country.
