Phnom Penh (FN), Jun. 27 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet urged the organization of more business matching forums or meetings abroad. These events would facilitate discussions between Cambodia's private sector and international counterparts, aiming to attract direct investment into Cambodia.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Jun. 27) at the celebration of MSME Day 2024, held at Diamond Island Convention and Exhibition Centre.

Samdech Thipadei underlined that in the past, whenever he travelled abroad, he consistently organized forums to initiate dialogue. Now, he aims to expand these efforts by hosting more business matching forums. These events provide crucial opportunities for Cambodian and international business leaders to discuss and explore trade opportunities together.

The premier added that during his meeting with the Thai foreign minister this morning, the Thai side also urged the organization of the forum to facilitate meetings between the private sectors of both countries.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei thanked the Cambodian private sector for its collaboration and urged them to strengthen themselves for business expansion and stability. He underscored the importance of forming associations to support each other, highlighting that Cambodia competes globally, not internally. By uniting, Cambodian products can gain strength and competitiveness in global markets, attracting foreign investment crucial for Cambodia's economic environment.
