Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet encouraged all educational institutions in the communes, districts, and provinces to establish incentive programs for outstanding teachers and students.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Jul. 4) during a graduation ceremony and an inauguration of teachers' dormitory at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College.

In addition, Samdech Thipadei called for the involvement of the community, parents, teachers and all relevant institutions to strengthen education quality and offer incentives to teachers.

"The teachers’ incentives in each school do not need to wait for the Ministry's team or evaluation; internal encouragement can also be implemented within each district. Each commune and province can be creative because there are departments already doing this," the premier underscored.

Regarding annual exams, model schools and model teachers, Samdech Thipadei encouraged regular conduct and expansion of these practices.

Prime Minister Hun Manet also noted that each school has its own unique strengths. Some schools foster creativity, others encourage competition, and some offer rewards for students who achieve Grade A in national exams.
