Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 4 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet shared five recommendations to continue to enhance and support the development of teacher capacity in Cambodia, speaking on Thursday (Jul. 4) during a graduation ceremony and an inauguration of teachers' dormitory at Phnom Penh Teacher Education College.

The five recommendations are as follows:

1. Continues to reform teacher training institutions by enhancing the qualifications of new teachers and improving teachers' training to meet the 'Teacher Professional Standards,' 'Model Teacher Training School Standards,' and the provision of regular professional development.

2. Focuses on implementing teaching, learning, new assessment methods, that enable the development of rationalized critical thinking skills in students. This will help them solve daily life problems and apply scientific knowledge in their everyday life.

3. Enhances teachers' digital skills and capabilities by incorporating technology into teaching, learning, enhancing digital content, setting up digital learning centres, and widely distributing digital platforms.

4. Encourages pedagogical students to continually develop their knowledge and profession through regular research, further studies, enhancement of technology and digital skills, improvement of communication skills with stakeholders, acceptance of advice, and learning from the experiences of leaders and colleagues in the workplace, as well as adapting to the evolving educational environment.

5. Encourages pedagogical students to dedicate themselves to studying and acquiring additional skills and pedagogical techniques to become top-notch educators for Cambodia, in alignment with the social evolving context.
