Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 7 – Cambodia and Japan signed and exchanged notes concerning a yen loan project and a grant aid project, during Japanese Foreign Minister Kamikawa Yoko’s official visit to Cambodia from 5-6 July 2024.

The signing of the documents was presided over by the Cambodian and Japanese foreign ministers, with the Government of Japan providing grants and loans totaling around USD 60 million for the implementation of two projects.

Both foreign ministers signed and exchanged notes concerning a yen loan project (approximately USD 59.6 million) for the implementation of the National Road No.5 Improvement Project (Thlea Ma’am-Battambang and Sri Sophorn-Poipet Sections)(III) and a grant aid project (approximately USD 2.7 million) for the Project for Human Resource Development Scholarship to support young administrative officials to study in Japan.
