Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet announced that the first semester of 2024, Cambodia achieved greater momentum from Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) approving 190 investment projects worth USD 3.2 billion, a threefold increase compared to the same period in 2023.

The premier spoke on Monday morning (Jul. 8) during the opening of the Second Cambodia-France Business Forum in Phnom Penh.

Samdech Thipadei mentioned that in 2023, the Council for the Development of Cambodia approved 268 investment projects worth nearly USD 4.9 billion. In addition, Cambodia's inclusion in Finance Time's 2024 FTI Target Tracking List ranks it among the top 50 investment destinations globally, highlighting its appeal to international investors.

On the occasion, the premier noted that these achievements are a testament to Cambodia's strong economic foundations, including its strategic location, a vibrant and highly skilled young workforce, and efficient policies.

Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed that the Royal Government remains committed to supporting the private sector at all stages of business operations.
