Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 8 – This weekend, the entrepreneurial landscape of Phnom Penh was electrified as Khmer Enterprise successfully launched the first cluster of UnipreneurCamp, under the flagship of the KE UniPreneur program. This intensive three-day startup hackathon, hosted at the American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP), brought together 200 students from 7 universities across the city. Forming 40 dynamic teams, the students pitched innovative startup ideas to showcase creativity and problem-solving prowess.
The program held from 6-8 July 2024, aimed to equip students with both technical and soft skills essential for startup success. Participants were immersed in the co-founder experience, adopting an entrepreneurial mindset and learning best practices such as human-centered design, lean methodology, validation, and value creation.
“Our goal is to create an environment where students can thrive and innovate. By using ideas from diverse backgrounds and various universities across the country, Khmer Enterprise fostered a collaborative spirit that is essential for entrepreneurial success,” said Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as the CEO of Khmer Enterprise.
The hackathon concluded with each team delivering an abridged investor pitch deck, complete with a mock-up of their proposed solutions. This hands-on approach not only allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge but also provided a platform to showcase their creativity and problem-solving abilities.

This program instills students with a deeper understanding of what it takes to be an entrepreneur and needs to turn ideas into viable businesses. This program provided a unique opportunity for students to learn from industry experts and peers alike.
