Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 19 – President of the National Assembly of Cambodia Khuon Sudary sent a condolence letter to Chairman of the National Assembly of Viet Nam Tran Thanh Man over the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong.

“It is with profound sadness and a heavy heart that I extend my deepest condolences on the passing of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong. His departure is a tremendous loss to not only Viet Nam but also to all who had the honour of knowing him and witnessing his invaluable contributions to humankind,” according to a letter seen by Fresh News on Friday night (Jul. 19).

“Secretary General Nguyen Phu Trong was a remarkable leader whose vision and dedication have profoundly impacted Viet Nam's socio-economic development and institutional modernization. Moreover, he has played a crucial role in enhancing trust-based, result-oriented, and people-centred relations between our two nations.

His unwavering dedication to fostering strong bilateral ties has been instrumental in bringing our two nations closer together, and for that, we are immensely grateful. His leadership, wisdom, and compassion will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

We share in your grief during this difficult time and extend our heartfelt sympathies to his family, colleagues, and the people of Viet Nam.
