Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 22 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet and Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin announced their commitment to promoting cooperation between Cambodia and China to bring new benefits to both nations and their peoples.

The premier received a courtesy call by Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia Wang Wenbin on Monday morning (Jul. 22) at the Peace Palace.

During the meeting, Samdech Thipadei welcomed and congratulated Wang Wenbin on his appointment as Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia. The premier expressed confidence that during Wang Wenbin's diplomatic mission, Cambodia-China relations and cooperation would be further strengthened and expanded.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador expressed his appreciation for the Royal Government of Cambodia's efforts to achieve significant progress for the country and its people.

The ambassador also conveyed his belief that under the wise leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet, Cambodia would experience more vigorous development and improved living standards for its people. Ambassador Wang Wenbin reaffirmed his commitment to fostering stronger and more fruitful cooperation between the two countries.

Both sides expressed their satisfaction with the long-standing and robust relations between Cambodia and China. They discussed ways to further enhance cooperation in various areas, including defence and security, energy, tourism, people-to-people contacts, economy and trade, agriculture, industrial and technological corridor, and the fish and rice corridor.
