Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 23 – At the invitation of Laotian Foreign Minister Saleumxay Kommasith, Cambodian Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea, will lead a delegation to take part in the 57th ASEAN Foreign Ministers' Meeting and Related Meetings in Vientiane from 24-27 July 2024. The theme of the meetings is "ASEAN: Enhancing Connectivity and Resilience".

"The meetings provide an opportunity to discuss ASEAN Community-building work including innovative approaches to further enhance ASEAN cooperation to a realise a more connected and resilient region for shared prosperity," according to the press release seen by Fresh News on Monday (Jul. 22).

"Foreign Minister Sok Chenda Sophea will also attend separate meetings under Mekong cooperation frameworks with the foreign ministers of Japan and the Republic of Korea and the Secretary of State of the United States of America.

During his stay in Vientiane, the foreign minister will join other ASEAN foreign ministers and the Secretary-General of ASEAN to pay a courtesy call on Laotian Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone. He is also expected to have bilateral talks with foreign counterparts to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation under bilateral and multilateral frameworks."
