Phnom Penh (FN), Jul. 25 – Cambodian Senate President, Samdech Techo Hun Sen and President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam To Lam pledged to strengthen and expand cooperation between Cambodia and Viet Nam, as well as among Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Laos.

To Lam received a courtesy call by Samdech Techo Hun Sen on Thursday (Jul. 25) in Viet Nam.

The Vietnamese president committed to continuing the tasks assigned by the Secretary General towards nation-building and fostering a strong friendship between Cambodia and Viet Nam, ensuring it endures for future generations.

To Lam thanked Samdech Techo Hun Sen for paying tribute to the late Nguyen Phu Trong, and extended his gratitude to Cambodian king, the prime minister and all Cambodian institutional leaders for their condolences on the loss of the great Vietnamese statesman.

Both leaders conveyed their profound sorrow over this significant loss to the state, the party, and the Vietnamese people.

To Lam also thanked Samdech Techo for paying tribute to the late Nguyen Phu Trong, highlighting the valuable friendship they had developed over more than a decade of working together.

As the new President of Viet Nam, To Lam vowed to continue all the collaborative efforts between the parties and states of Cambodia and Viet Nam, as well as among Cambodia, Viet Nam, and Laos, to ensure long-term strength. Both sides agreed to maintain comprehensive cooperation and effectively implement existing agreements, especially those established by previous generations of leaders.
