Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 1 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet stated that the ASEAN region has become the fifth largest economy in the world because ASEAN women have played a pivotal role in the communities and national economies, as well as in economic integration through regional and international platform.

The premier addressed the Pinnacle Entrepreneur Forum and 2024 AWEN Award on Thursday morning (Aug. 1) at Sofitel Phnom Penh Phokeethra.

Premier Hun Manet underscored, “ASEAN has become the fifth largest economy in the world because ASEAN women have played a pivotal role, not just as the very bedrock of her communities and national economies, contributing to job creation, reducing poverty and promoting inclusive economy, but also in economic integration through regional and international platforms, driving growth and fostering innovation across borders.”

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet added that this event will provide invaluable opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity building and collaboration, allowing women entrepreneurs to develop strategies and enhance their business capabilities and competitiveness, share best practices and gain access to a broader spectrum of resources, networks and markets.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei continued that today's event stands as undeniable proof of the unyielding spirit of ASEAN women, who defy limits, dare to dream, disrupt and lead.

Samdech Thipadei further underlined that in Cambodia, the very fabric of our society, woven with threads of peace, harmony and resilience, has been meticulously crafted by generations of Cambodian women.

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei added that the unwavering strength and gentle guidance of women have anchored us through turbulent times and allowed us to flourish as a nation. The appreciation and respect for women is deeply embedded in our culture, traditions and teaching.
