Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 2  – In a testament to the growing entrepreneurial spirit among Cambodian youth, Khmer Enterprise proudly announces the successful launch of the third cluster of UnipreneurCamp. This dynamic startup hackathon brought together 200 aspiring student entrepreneurs from 9 universities spanning 8 different provinces across Cambodia including Angkor Khemara University (AKU, Kampong Speu), Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT, Kampong Speu), National Meanchey University (NMU, Banteay Meanchey), National University of Battambang (NUBB, Battambang), National University of Cheasim Kamchaymear (NUCK Main Campus) National University of CheaSim Kamchaymear (Prey Veng Campus), National University of Cheasim Kamchaymear (Kampong Cham Campus), Svay Rieng University (SRU, Svay Rieng) and University of South-East Asia (USEA, Siem Reap), making the KE UniPreneur program’s total participants  close to 1,000 in 2024.

“In a conducive entrepreneurship ecosystem, there’s always the creation of new innovations, fostering existing innovations, and advancing potential innovations. Today’s program allows students to experience innovations as seeds for future creativities. This work contributes to the development of human capital which aligns with the Pentagonal Strategy of the Royal Government of Cambodia, ” said Chhieng Vanmunin, Delegate of the Royal Government in charge as the CEO of Khmer Enterprise.

“The diversity of ideas and the level of passion displayed by the participants in UnipreneurCamp Cluster 3 were truly remarkable,” said Kenzaburo Bekku, Executive Vice-President and Director of Kirirom Institute of Technology. “By hosting this event, we aim to inspire the next generation of Cambodian entrepreneurs and provide them with the resources and support they need to turn their ideas into viable businesses.”

“Hosting UnipreneurCamp at the Kirirom Institute of Technology (KIT) provided the perfect environment for these young innovators to thrive," said Rusydi Khairul, CEO & Co-Founder of Reactor School. “The facilities, combined with the picturesque natural surroundings of the vKirirom Pine Resort, created an inspiring environment that fostered creativity and collaboration among the participants.”

Over the course of three intensive days, the 200 students formed 40 dynamic teams and worked tirelessly to develop innovative startup ideas that addressed a wide range of real-world challenges. Guided by experienced mentors, the participants honed their entrepreneurial skills, from ideation to user-centric design, validation, and value creation, and effective pitching

The program culminated in a final pitch competition, where the top teams presented their innovative solutions to a panel of distinguished judges. The winning teams demonstrated not only a deep understanding of their target markets but also a strong grasp of the strategies and tools required to bring their ideas to life.

UnipreneurCamp Cluster 3 has further solidified Khmer Enterprise’s position as a catalyst for entrepreneurial growth in Cambodia. By expanding the program's reach to engage students from across the country, Khmer Enterprise has created a platform for young Cambodians to showcase their ingenuity and drive positive change within their communities.

As Cambodia continues to embrace a culture of entrepreneurship, events like UnipreneurCamp will undoubtedly play a crucial role in cultivating the next generation of homegrown innovators and business leaders.
