Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 2 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet expressed his gratitude to Neak Oknha, Oknha, and all dignitaries for their ongoing involvement in social and humanitarian activities, especially during the COVID19 pandemic.

The premier spoke on Friday (Aug. 2) during his gala dinner with the Cambodian Oknha Association and the Housing Development Association of Cambodia.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underscored, "I would like to extend my deep appreciation to all 1,432 Neak Oknha, Oknha, and dignitaries. As of 2023, they have consistently participated in social activities, including humanitarian and charitable efforts, particularly during the COVID19 outbreak."

On the occasion, Samdech Thipadei underlined that the Royal Government's appeals, especially those made by Samdech Techo, have been met with active support from Neak Oknha, Oknha and dignitaries. They have contributed to the Cambodian Red Cross on World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day every year, donated for demining and unexploded ordnance clearance, supported the Samdech Techo Voluntary Youth Doctors Association (TYDA), funded the construction of a school building at Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University, and contributed to the construction of the Samdech Pin Sem Museum.

Premier Hun Manet added that, even on a personal level, members of the Cambodian business community have played a significant role in boosting economic activity, which is crucial for job creation and providing opportunities for people to improve their lives.

Samdech Thipadei further added that these contributions are why the Royal Government values the private sector. All members of the Oknha Association and Cambodian business investors are essential in promoting a sustainable economy, both in times of prosperity and during challenges.
