Great Britain, with 284 gold medals, excels in rowing, cycling, and track and field, winning a rowing gold in every Summer Olympics from 1984 to 2016.

Since rejoining the Olympics in 1984, China ranks fourth. About 75% of their gold medals come from six sports, including table tennis, diving, shooting, weightlifting, and gymnastics, with women winning two-thirds of China’s golds.
