Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 6 – On 25 July 2024, the Asian Vision Institute (AVI), in collaboration with the Royal Thai Embassy in Phnom Penh, hosted a roundtable discussion on “Thailand-Cambodia Strategic Partnership: Perspectives on Two Kingdoms, One Destination”. The discussion aimed to explore innovative approaches for future collaboration in tourism and to exchange ideas on strengthening bilateral ties for the benefit of both countries and their citizens.

The event commenced with welcoming remarks by Chheng Kimlong, President of AVI, followed by opening remarks by Cherdkiat Atthakor, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Kingdom of Cambodia. Keynote addresses were delivered by Chuk Chumno, Director General of Tourism Department and International Cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia, and Ith Vichit, CEO of the Cambodia Tourism Marketing and Promotion Board. The centrepiece of the gathering was a dynamic roundtable discussion featuring panellists:

- Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya, Deputy Governor of Tourism Authority of Thailand (for International Marketing Asia and South Pacific);
- Chuk Chumno;
- Oknha Chhay Sivlin, President of the Cambodia Association of Travel Agents;
- Din Somethearith, President of Cambodia Tourism Federation;

The event concluded with closing remarks by Yun Linne, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap Province. This gathering attracted a diverse audience of over 40 participants, including representatives from government agencies, diplomatic corps, think tanks, and tourism enterprises, underscoring the importance of this collaborative initiative in shaping the future of Thailand-Cambodia relations in the tourism sector.
