Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 8 – Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet has expressed his desire to see De Montfort University, Britain's oldest and most prestigious university, become a hub and magnet for British investment.

The premier spoke on Thursday (Aug. 8) during the opening of De Montfort University Cambodia in Phnom Penh.

"In the future, I would like to see De Montfort University become a hub and a magnet for investment from the United Kingdom, helping to link the human resources and future leaders trained by the university with market players, investors, and the UK's future industries,” Samdech Thipadei underscored.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Hun Manet underlined that De Montfort University chose Cambodia as a location for its branch because the university recognised Cambodia's commitment to education.

This presence underscores the quality of Cambodian education and the capability of Cambodian students to engage in higher education and compete within international education standards, the premier added.
