Phnom Penh (FN), Aug. 8 – Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, led the 16th Board of Trustees Meeting of Khmer Enterprise to review mid-year progress and achievements on 7 August 2024.
During the meeting, Khmer Enterprise presented new strategic plan for implementing core programs and highlighted projects that are aligned with the Pentagonal Strategy Phase I of the Royal Government of Cambodia. The new strategic plan aims to promote entrepreneurship across the country with a focus on four sectors: services, agriculture, ICT, and manufacturing.
"Khmer Enterprise has achieved commendable progress in the first half of 2024, yet significant challenges remain ahead. It is crucial for our SMEs to embrace new technologies, access technical skills and formal financial services, and commit to high standards and quality. This will enable them to compete effectively in both local and international markets," said Minister Vanndy.
The Board of Trustees expressed its support for Khmer Enterprise to pursue the 2024 plan, which focuses on several key initiatives: expanding entrepreneurship support programs, enhancing market competitiveness, encouraging SMEs to adopt technology, and broadening the promotion of an entrepreneurial culture throughout Cambodia.
As a government trust, Khmer Enterprise plays a crucial role in developing the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Cambodia. It offers resources, training, and support that empower entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable businesses and drive expansion. The organization's support programs are designed to enhance capacity, boost competitiveness, and stimulate business growth throughout the country.
